Losing weight is all about training your mind, body and soul. And there are a few things you can do to make your transformation from being overweight and too-busy-at-work into a go-getter who looks hot while she works and brings up her children!
Your mind is often the biggest hurdle when attempting to get in better shape, and once your mind is trained, your body and soul simply follow suit. Jennifer is the ideal example of a determined woman who proved that with a little determination and drive your mind, body and soul can be shaped into a whole new you with less effort and time than you may think.
Getting into your zone when you need to lose weight is half the battle. Your mind essentially controls your body so if you can get yourself into a routine, your mind will start to tell you that you want to workout and you want to eat salad rather than you have to.
As long as your mind is in ‘having to’ mode, you are constantly battling with it — so stick with it while you get through this early stage of making up excuses about why you don’t have the time or the money to get fit, and you will soon find your mind will change into the ‘wanting to’ mode.
Once your mind is set on losing the weight, the next step to conquer is getting down and dirty with the actual training! Routines are great for forming a regular workout and eating pattern, but don’t be afraid to play with an established routine if they get boring. Ensure the workouts you are doing actually correspond with the results that you desire, and if your body rebels with aches, pains and tiredness then you are probably doing it some good!
Our souls will be trained when our minds and bodies are. Our souls are what make us the people that we are, and our minds and bodies create our soul — so if they are in good shape then so is your soul!
It is important to be at one with what you are doing, so only do workouts that you enjoy, don’t let other parts of your life suffer because of your desire to lose weight, and eat things that make you happy by adding in the odd treat. Life’s too short to miss out on activities and food that make us happy, so if once a month you want to veg out on the sofa with some butter popcorn; do it! (preferably with freshly popped kernels!)
Jennifer understands the connections between all three parts of your life and one of her books gives women all over the world hope and determination to do what she did. If you’re interested, check out further info on her Mind, Body and Soul Diet.
