Women and chocolate go together like sugar and spice and salt and pepper. We love it! But when we are trying to squeeze into a bikini for our summer holiday or are working hard to get healthy, one of our biggest problems is fighting off the dreaded chocolate cravings.
So, here’s the good news. Research has proven that it is not addictive but the bad news is that it is obviously so darn tasty that we liken the cravings to an addiction!
So, what can we do to help us lead a chocolate-free life?
Yes, the answer to every woman’s dream. Lose weight, tone up and eat chocolate, sounds ideal! But before all the cynics out there shout for my head, chocolate is the same as any other food; it can be consumed in moderation. This will stave off the cravings and allow you to live a happy, chocolate-consuming life (cue the cheers!).
You can also take pleasure in knowing that research has also shown that chocolate can prolong life by reducing the risk of bad cholesterol and blood clots — but don’t take this research to the extreme as it only works positively in small doses!
When it comes to chocolate we often crave the sweet fix we get from all our favorite bars, but we can try substituting it for other sweet foods that are not so high in fat. Fruit is a great idea — and if you simply can’t go without your chocolate, then pair it up with some fruit so you consume far less of the bar.
Tasty fruits to accompany our chocolate:
Anything sweet and juicy works well, and it simply helps us to consume less chocolate — either with fruit as an accompaniment or a replacement.
If it’s not in your fridge, then you can’t eat it. Simple yet effective! Apply your will power in the supermarket so that you don’t have to when you are tired after work, or when the kids want some. As long as you have replacement snacks, it should be enough for you not to reach for the car keys and head out the front door to the nearest gas station…

What a radical opinion. I agree with you but need to think through what you are saying before reformulating my own thinking.
British candy maker Cadbury PLC on Tuesday accepted and recommended to shareholders Kraft’s improved takeover offer worth $18.9 billion, potentially ending a months-long corporate battle to create the world’s largest maker of chocolate and sweets.
